How To Prepare For A Float Spa In Melbourne

Unlike other forms of relaxation such as meditation, floating presents a rather straightforward process. A float spa in Melbourne may actually be considered as an ultimate form of healthy relaxation due to its ability to reduce stress. Apart from the occasional itch, this exercise does not cause any form of physical sensations, thanks to the calm water heated to body temperature.

Float tanks make use of a mix of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) and water. While some float centers may choose to treat the water with chlorine, it is, however, recommended to select a float spa in Melbourne that does not use chlorine in its tanks. This will help to give you the full sensory deprivation experience you deserve.

Note that most float tanks provide absolute darkness and silence and you will be left with just your mind to relate with as all your five senses will be rendered inactive. In fact, floating does have some real health benefits so it’s not placebo as some may see it. Float tanks help to significantly reduce cortisol levels in the body thereby reducing stress. Additionally, due to the body’s ability to absorb magnesium, this process can also help to improve the feeling of fatigue.

So, the real question now is – how do you prepare for a float spa in Melbourne? Here are some helpful tips to enable you enjoy a safe and unique floating experience especially if this is your first float.

It’s all about relaxation

There is no need for you to be nervous in a float spa as it is all about relaxation. Here, nothing bites! Your comfort is all that matters. So, feel free to release all of yourself (including your mind and your body)if you think you would require next support while floating then feel free to ask for the foam pillow to float with.

Give yourself plenty of time

One great way to ensure full preparation is to provide yourself with plenty of time both before and after your floating session. As a matter of fact, it is highly recommended that you take out enough time to relax for a while and enjoy the feeling you experience after your float before resuming your daily activities. If possible, take time to relax on a cozy sofa and sip some hot Tea. This will help you to unwind properly.

Avoid consuming caffeine before your appointment

If you want to enjoy your floating session in a calm, peaceful, and relaxed state of mind, you must avoid taking anything that contains caffeine as it can interfere with your ability to relax.

Avoid shaving

Some people tend to experience a kind of stinging sensation for a few minutes when they shave 2 or 3 hours before using the tank. If you desire to be more comfortable in your float tank try not to shave or better still postpone your shaving until after your appointment.

Don’t consider time

Worrying about time while floating can negatively affect your ability to relax. When the time comes for you to leave “the zone,” you will surely be notified calmly.
